N. Nampa residents plan clean-up day
NAMPA -- Kids and parents will clean up the north side on Saturday, Oct. 23 as part of Make a Difference Day.
The North Nampa Residents Association, through Nampa Neighborhood Housing Services, will hold two meetings to prepare for the clean-up day. North Nampa residents are invited to meet their neighbors and get involved in the upcoming project by attending a meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Snake River Elementary. Another meeting will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 15 at the Atkinson residence at 112 17th Ave. N.
"We're just trying to get different things for the kids to do," Gracie Atkinson, a member of the committee organizing the clean-up effort, said.
Local businesses -- including Lloyd Lumber Co., Paul's Market, Albertson's, Wal-Mart in Boise, Rollerdrome, Karcher Reel and Burger King -- have donated food, materials for projects and prizes for kids participating in the project.
